A Child’s Perspective

Emily started receiving occupational therapy from a young age, referred through the hospital due to her “clumsiness”. Emily was diagnosed with dyspraxia and, due to, this a teacher at Emily’s North East school told her parents that it was unlikely that Emily would be able to develop a good understanding of reading and writing. Against the odds, with the help of Julie Davis, managing director of Future Steps, Emily is now training to be a teacher at Northumbria University! Emily describes the treatment that Julie provided for her as “phenomenal”
