Teacher Training

Teacher Training is incredibly important to us at Future Steps. We believe that our teachers and all other educational staff are extremely valuable, therefore we feel that is is important for us to provide as many teacher training opportunities as possible!

Each Teacher Training Course is a available in the following formats:

  • Full Day
  • Half Day
  • Twilight

Teacher Training SEN

Handwriting – Putting the Foundations in Place to Ensure it Occurs & The Effect of Perception on Understanding the Curriculum

Accreditation Level: Three (Receive accreditation for both Handwriting and Perception course)

Event Type: Teacher Training

Course Aims: This training session will provide the teacher and other educational professionals with the knowledge to understand how motor and sensory systems affect the child’s ability with regard fine motor and handwriting skills and the knowledge to understand how motor and sensory systems affect the child’s ability with regard visual perception within the educational setting.

Session Length: 9:30am – 12:30pm

Cost per Participant: £100

‘Bridging the Gap Between Education and Dysfunction’

Accreditation Level: Three

Event Type: Teacher Training

Course Aims: This training session will provide the the teacher and other educational professionalwith the skills to recognise dysfunction and the impact on educational attainment. With the help of videos, you will recognise the presentation of the child and why this can result in certain behaviours.

Session Length: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Cost per Participant: £125

 

Sensory Integration and the effect of poor sensory processing

Accreditation Level: Three

Event Type: Teacher Training

Course Aims: This training session will provide the the teacher and other educational professionals with the knowledge to understand the sensory systems and how they affect the child’s ability in the educational setting.

Session Length: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Cost per Participant: £125

 

Negative Behaviours in the Classroom: A Sensory Perspective

Accreditation Level: Three

Event Type: Teacher Training

Course Aims: This half-day training session was designed to help the teacher, other educational staff and professionals to expand their knowledge of conditions such as ADHD, Autism and Sensory Processing Difficulties and it will provide an understanding of why sensory processing difficulties affect the child’s behaviour and attention skills.

Session Length: 9:30am – 12:30pm

Cost per Participant: £90
